At St Peter’s we have a strong reading culture and ethos – it is at the heart of everything we do.
We have a dedicated and committed Junior Librarian team who were chosen specifically to champion reading across the school community. Junior Librarians are responsible for ensuring that the Library is a vibrant and stimulating environment which fosters the children’s love of reading. The role of the Junior Librarian is to oversee the use of the Library during their class visit. The children also use the Library computer system to record borrowed books and replenish the shelves once they have been returned. The children replace fiction books using our alphabetical system (by author) and fiction books using the Dewey Decimal System.
Our Librarians, will often recommend new books for the Library that promote and uphold our school values linked to exemplary role models, equality, diversity, Eco and mental wellbeing.
