Catholic Social Teaching (CST) at St. Peter's Catholic Primary School is a vital part of the school’s mission, deeply embedded in the values and principles that guide the school community. CST is a body of teaching that focuses on how the principles of the Gospel are applied to social issues, promoting justice, peace, and dignity for all people. At St. Peter’s, these teachings inspire our children to not only learn about Catholic values but to actively live them out in ways that impact their school, local community, and the wider world.

Pupils are actively encouraged to take a leading role in initiatives that respond to the demands of CST. They are motivated and eager to find ways of responding. This includes engaging in Eco projects across local Billericay schools and the local community, taking a leading role in Commonwealth Day and leading the school in the service at Westminster Abbey, leading workshop and assemblies regarding CAFOD and global themes, pupils leading and presenting at parent workshop/coffee mornings on specific themes, (Anti-bullying, Mental Health, Diversity and Inclusion, Black British History), as well as Fundraising and information sharing at a local and national level (GOSH, CAFOD, Mary's Meals, Cancer Research, NHS, Ukraine Appeal).
Each year group are responsible for a given CST principle and ensuring that we put our faith into action for the Common Good of all. By embracing these key principles of Catholic Social Teaching, St. Peter’s ensures that its students not only receive a strong academic education but also develop a deep sense of social responsibility, compassion, and faith.
