    Mrs De Freitas

As your school chaplain, my aim is to create a welcoming environment where everyone feels included, free to explore faith, ask questions, and share their ideas as we journey together.

My faith is deeply important to me; it has been a true gift throughout my life. I feel privileged to walk alongside our children and families, supporting one another as we grow in faith and in our love for God.

You may see me leading prayers, celebrating Mass, or marking special liturgical seasons such as Advent and Lent. At other times, I lead RE sessions in the Lighthouse or I might simply be visiting classrooms for a friendly chat. I also accompany children on retreats, helping them to reflect, pause, and deepen their connection with God.

I support our wonderful Junior Disciples, who lead small groups of children in our reflective prayer areas, creating space for stillness and spiritual growth. I run “Bible and Biscuit” sessions, as well as Art and Mindfulness activities, all designed to nurture a developing relationship with God in creative and engaging ways.

I lead Faith in Action, where children with a passion for helping others respond to Jesus’ call to “go and feed the poor.” Together, we learn about different charities and think of ways to fundraise and make a meaningful difference.

I also take children to the Humankind Café, where they take part in an intergenerational lunch project, an opportunity to serve, connect, and contribute to our wider community.

At lunchtime, you’ll often find me in the hub, where I truly value the chance to chat, listen, and build relationships with our children.
